Hyper realistic construction from a cast of the skull
All hominid reconstructions are based on the architecture of the skull. Depending on what is available, an original cast of the skull, a stereolithic cast and/or post-cranium may be provided to Elisabeth Daynès.
Undertaking full hominid reconstructions or reconstructing an early human face are risky tasks, since they are an esthetical but most of all a scientific challenge. The goal is to create a hyper realistic reconstruction, a unique and specific early human or his or her face, from the remains of its thousand- or even million-year-old skull, while staying as close as possible to its physiognomy.
